Who we are and What we do
MT was established in 2002 in order to develop control systems, especially Dynamic Positioning (DP) Systems for offshore vessels, based on the latest technologies available in the market. A team of highly qualified and committed individuals was put together to develop a DP-system to meet, as a minimum, IMO guidelines for DP class 2 systems. 16 months after the company was started the first vessel with a DP-system from MT received its DPS-2 notation from American Bureau of Shipping, ABS .
Today MT produces and deliver type approved DP systems of all IMO classes, as well as less complex DP and Joystick solutions. Furthermore, by utilizing the core competences of our staff, MT now produces Integrated Bridge Systems (IBS) fully compliant with IMO regulations and appurtenant standards (e.g. IEC, ISO). The DNV Type Approval of our Bridge Mate™ IBS to NAUT AW, the most comprehensive bridge class notation in the industry today, stands as a proof of MT’s commitment to superior quality and performance in our products.
Commensurate with the ambition to provide fully integrated navigation and communication solutions to the international shipping and offshore market, MT also delivers telephone and satellite communication solutions, including both the physical installation onboard and a service with global coverage. This is enabled through strategic partnerships with both VSAT and antenna providers as well as with Intelsat, the world’s biggest operator and provider of satellite communication services.
Finally, being part of the Edison Chouest Offshore sphere of companies, MT also provides and operates a fleet of Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) for underwater Inspection, Maintenance and Repair (IMR) services.
The company structure
The company’s main office is located in Mandeville, Louisiana, in the center of the offshore activity for the Gulf of Mexico. In order to serve the different market segments and geographic regions in a satisfactory way, affiliated companies are established to support this development.
The development, production and delivery of DPs and IBSs takes place from Marine Technologies LLC (Main Office) in Mandeville, as well as Marine Technologies AS, located in Egersund. The latter provides DP projects- engineering, commissioning and customer support in Europe. Sales and Service in Asia is covered through Marine Technologies Asia Pte Ltd in Singapore.
Communication solutions are provided by MT Content Bandwidth Management (MT CBM) LTD, also located at the Headquarter in Mandeville. In accordance with Brazilian regulations, MT do Brazil is established in Rio de Janeiro with responsibility for all communications services being offered in Brazilian waters/to Brazilian flagged vessels.
Similarly, underwater IMR services are managed from C Innovation (CI) US, co-located with MT and CBM, C Innovation Norway, co-located with MT Norway and C Innovation Brazil.
